Emanuel Van Redfo

Patrol Prince

The dashing prince of Prologia's streets, Emanuel Van Redfo. With a steadfast and assured demeanor, he dutifully patrols every nook and cranny of the city on his loyal mechanical steed, Perseus. As the middle child of the Van Redfo Family, Emanuel appears to navigate life effortlessly, devoid of struggles or doubts.

Emanuel is a shining example of his police district, embodying a constant and active commitment to maintaining order around the clock, establishing a deep connection with the city's people. While some may label him as a show-off, his self-assured approach motivates many and bolsters his own dedication to preserving order. Armed with style and acrobatic prowess, he swiftly apprehends even the most agile criminals.

Emanuel's career choice was a no-brainer, as his older brother, Chase, was a patrol officer who often took Emanuel on patrols, igniting his passion for horses. However, upon Emanuel's graduation from the police academy, the new restructuring initiative replaced traditional horses with motorcycles to both save on budget and prevent animal abuse. It was Emanuel and Chase who presented the idea to the high council, advocating for the development of mechanical horses that could seamlessly transform into motorcycles, facilitating swifter pursuits while preserving the cherished hero-and-steed aesthetic.

Relationships

Chase Van Redfo

Chase, Emanuel's elder brother, and his hero, played a significant role in raising Emanuel. After Emanuel's birth, their parents embarked on continuous world travels, leaving Chase with the responsibility of caring for his younger sibling. Chase juggled this responsibility while simultaneously pursuing his studies at Prologia's Police Academy.

Emanuel's unwavering devotion to his big brother led him to accompany Chase everywhere, even during Chase's demanding exams at the police academy. Their emotional bond was so strong that Chase couldn't bear to leave Emanuel at home or in daycare. A young Emanuel and a small plush horse occupied a quiet corner of the classroom, fully aware of how significant this was for his cherished hero. He still holds the memory of that day close to his heart when Chase rewarded him with the biggest ice cream cup he had ever eaten, a sweet and cherished moment.

However, with the arrival of Frederic, the dynamics between Emanuel and Chase began to shift. Fueled by the pressures of impending adulthood and adolescence, Emanuel felt that he could no longer match Frederic's innocence and cuteness. He believed that his big brother, his hero, had replaced him. Concealing his true emotions behind a charming smile, Emanuel chose not to burden Chase, understanding that his elder brother had to fulfill his duties as the new chief of Precinct 2. Consequently, Emanuel intentionally distanced himself, hoping to alleviate the responsibilities placed on his big brother.

Frederic Van Redfo

Emanuel had always obediently followed his older brother's instructions when it came to looking after the young foal. However, these moments were tinged with a bittersweet undercurrent. It wasn't until one fateful day when, while playing, Frederic found himself in a perilous situation, nearly kidnapped and abused by two menacing men, that Emanuel experienced emotions he had never felt before. In that moment, Emanuel had a profound realization: his jealousy was unwarranted, and the strange thoughts of being replaced and not sharing his big brother with others were baseless.

He understood the need to protect his little brother and be there for him, much like how Chase had been for him in his own formative years. That evening, he took Frederic to their favorite local ice cream shop, and together, they savored the largest cup of ice cream available, forging a bond that transcended any lingering apprehensions. Creating a memory as sweet as the one with Chase.

Calem Hood

In contrast to Calem, who approaches life with a mindset full of possibilities, Emanuel prefers to live his life as simply as possible. Throughout his life, Emanuel never truly had a hobby to call his own; instead, he frequently tagged along with his best friend. Many have remarked on the striking similarities between the two, but Emanuel vehemently denies these comparisons.

While Calem is known for his openness with his emotions and thoughts and tendency to times to overthink, he's also known for being unafraid to seek help and reveal his vulnerabilities. Emanuel, on the other hand, tends to keep his struggles and thoughts concealed, only partially opening up, hoping to resolve his problems independently. More often than not, this approach proves effective for him.

Wild Cards

The grunts that make up the majority of the Wild Cards' members. Among the many officers working in the various police precincts, none have been as successful in pursuing and apprehending Wild Cards in the city as Emanuel. It has become almost routine for him to capture and incarcerate a minimum of ten grunts daily.

Despite the Wild Cards' notoriety, Emanuel enjoys their fashion sense, and has even purchased some of their merch in the past.

Jack Spriggings

In Emanuel's first week on patrol, he encountered Jack Spriggings in Sugar Plum Square, who was selling peculiar-looking beans, promising wealth and success. Ironically, those beans did bring success to Emanuel and he arrested Jack, unaware of his reputation as one of Prologia's most notorious con artists and gained the respect of the whole precinct.

Somehow, Jack always manages to secure his release and returns to pursuing get-rich-quick schemes. He even resorts to stealing vehicles, boats, and even Perseus, aiming to dismantle them for their valuable parts.

Skippy Scoop

A mischievous reporter who works for the gossip newspaper "Golden Goose," Skippy Scoop is constantly on the prowl for the next juicy story to please his demanding boss, Midas. This pursuit often leads to encounters with Emanuel, who frequently has to reprimand the young troublemaker at various locations throughout the city. Emanuel issues citations or even arrests Skippy for a variety of offenses, including trespassing on private property, harassment, and speeding on his moped.

Whether it's a car accident in the city or a crime scene on the outskirts of Prologia, Skippy Scoop always manages to get the inside scoop. There's a rumor circulating that Emanuel competes with Skippy in motorcycle races as a way to prevent him from publishing scandalous stories in the newspaper, including photos and recorded conversations, related to his co-workers from the precinct. If Emanuel wins the race, Skippy is required to delete it all. So far, Emanuel remains the undisputed victor in each race.

Adelio Antaios

The Chief's reserved son, Adelio, was an acquaintance from Emanuel's childhood, although calling them friends might be an exaggeration. Their connection stemmed from the frequent collaborations between Emanuel's older brother, Chase, and Elijah, Adelio's father, often involving them in crime scenes. Even in their youth, Adelio displayed remarkable detective skills, solving numerous murder mysteries that secretly impressed Emanuel. Despite his accomplishments, Adelio appeared perpetually solitary.

Over time, Adelio distanced himself from his father's duties, rarely appearing at the precinct. It wasn't until years later, when Emanuel overheard a conversation between Danyal and Archie, that he learned Adelio had established his own detective office, independent from his father's affairs. To this day, Emanuel wonders whether he and Adelio could have become genuine friends if he had made a greater effort to reach out to him.

Emanuel is my favorite character (so far). 😍

I am bit surprised there isn't a section about Perseus in the "Relationships" section. I'm guessing Perseus isn't exactly a main character or is getting a seperate bio page? 🐎

P.S. I don't know why, but my mind keeps autofilling Emanuel's last name as "Van Redford" for some reason. 😆
